Reedview Basement Remodel

 This full basement remodel project began with an unfinished lower level and evolved into a complete basement transformation—featuring a new bedroom, bathroom, home theater, full kitchen with dry bar, and added storage.

We started by recreating the as-built layout in Chief Architect, based on verified dimensions. From there, we developed a detailed proposed plan that included custom framing, furred-out walls for insulation, and creative soffit solutions to conceal wiring and HVAC—especially in the kitchen and theater rooms. Layered soffits also helped define the ceiling design, creating a modern tray ceiling effect.

What began as a small kitchenette gradually evolved into a fully equipped kitchen, with ongoing client input helping shape the cabinetry design and appliance choices. Flooring selections reflect a thoughtful approach: carpet for the bedroom and theater room, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) throughout the remaining finished basement floor.

Unique details include a Murphy door disguised as a bookshelf for the theater, barn doors for the bedroom, and soffit-integrated lighting throughout. Our deliverables included reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), framing layouts, electrical and lighting plans, cabinetry elevations, and realistic 3D renderings—ensuring smooth coordination from concept to construction.

This project is a standout example of how smart basement renovations can unlock new living potential, finish the basement floor properly, and deliver a highly customized, high-performing space.
