Tudor-Style Home in Colorado

 This Tudor-style home design in Colorado transforms a compact single-story residence into a four-bedroom, two-story home built above an existing basement. The original roof and above-grade structure are removed, while the existing basement walls are retained and incorporated into the new construction. 

 A new 12-inch framed wall above the retained foundation raises the main-floor structure and provides an 8-foot ceiling throughout the renovated basement. The completed layout contains four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a powder room across 3,041 square feet of living space.

The basement includes a bedroom, full bathroom, laundry, game room and living area. The first floor brings together the kitchen, dining and living spaces, along with a home office and covered porches. Three additional bedrooms, including the primary suite, are located on the second floor.

 The exterior combines steep roof forms, articulated gables, smooth stucco, timber detailing and a prominent stone-clad tower. The tower creates distinctive spaces on both residential floors and gives the house a clear architectural identity.

Covered porches provide sheltered outdoor areas at the front and rear of the house. A detached garage is positioned toward the back of the property, allowing the main residence to remain the focus from the street.

 Our work included custom residential design, Chief Architect 3D modeling, exterior visualization and the preparation and coordination of residential permit drawings.

The design was developed around the dimensional and structural constraints of the retained basement while introducing a completely new floor plan, exterior composition and vertical circulation system above it. Following an extensive design, coordination and documentation process, the project received permit approval in June 2026.
