Community Park in Lubbock

 Located near Wolfforth, just outside Lubbock, this project reimagines a natural basin as a vibrant community park, blending rural charm with purposeful design. The sloping terrain guided a gentle and respectful intervention, with trails following contour lines to minimize impact and enhance accessibility.

Anchoring the site are four distinct pole barns—each serving a unique role as gathering spaces, art hubs, and event venues. These structures combine traditional rural elements with contemporary forms, reflecting the area’s agricultural character while offering modern functionality.

The landscape is enriched with native prairie grasses, water tower-inspired signage features, and familiar farmyard touches like an old tractor and rustic fencing. Together, these elements foster a strong sense of place—celebrating local heritage while creating flexible, welcoming spaces for the community to enjoy.
